New Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Chairman John Ansah won a clear victory in Thursday’s elections at the GHALCA Secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium.
With 95 votes, Ansah far outvoted his opponent, Isaac Wilberforce Koomson, who only got 35.
Kudjoe Fianoo’s long tenure ends with Ansah taking over. The new leadership is predicted to enhance GHALCA’s impact and activities.
Nana Amankwaa Kwakye lost the Vice Chairmanship contest to Phyllis Marku, who successfully defended her seat.
GHALCA executive member Ansah, a three-term veteran, is committed to ethical leadership and unity to build a more successful association.
Describing his GHALCA vision, he emphasized responsible leadership, transparency, and integrity to build a better future for all members.
The election included 36 Premier League members, 48 from Division One, 30 RFAs, and 20 Women’s Premier League members, for a total of 134 participants.
Following losses in 2016 and 2020 to Fianoo, Koomson’s candidacy was his third attempt at the chairmanship.
