Ghana possesses quality players who can qualify for the 2026 World Cup

Ghana’s Technical Advisor and GFA Director of Football, Winfried Schäfer, is optimistic that victories in their upcoming games will secure the Black Stars a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
Following consecutive victories over Chad and Madagascar last March, Ghana’s Black Star has improved their World Cup qualifying prospects with four matches remaining.
Ghana plays Chad away before hosting Mali in Matchday 7 and 8 of the World Cup qualifiers.
Despite this, Schäfer, speaking following the Black Stars Unity Cup matches in London, voiced confidence in the team’s ability to qualify for the World Cup for a fifth time if they win their next two games.
“Our team is full of talent. We’ve got players at Auxerre, Bilbao, and West Ham United,” the German coach reiterated.
“If we win two matches, we can go to the World Cup. I don’t know about Nigeria,” he added.
Ghana, topping Group I with 15 points, will conclude its qualifying campaign in October against Comoros and the Central African Republic
