Ghana may seek refuge in Cote d’Ivoire following the ban on Baba Yara Stadium

CAF’s banning of the Baba Yara Stadium has left Ghana’s Black Stars needing a new home for their future international matches.
The decision comes after several technical infractions were noted during the Ghana vs. Angola Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying match on September 5, 2024.
With its array of CAF-approved stadiums, Cote d’Ivoire is not just a contender, but a promising host for the Ghanaian national team.
The Ghana Football Association can find a convenient and logistically feasible solution in Cote d’Ivoire, considering their close geographical proximity and solid historical ties.
The quality and infrastructure of the Ivorian stadiums make them not just suitable, but ideal venues for the Black Stars to achieve international success.
The final decision on the Black Stars’ home destination is still undecided, but Cote d’Ivoire is emerging as a top contender.
To maintain their competitive edge, the Black Stars could temporarily use Ivorian stadiums while Ghana tackles issues at the Baba Yara Stadium and other domestic venues.
During the next international break in October, the Black Stars will have a double-header against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
