After changing his national affiliation, Patric Pfeiffer has been called up to the Ghana national football team, ending his long wait to represent Ghana internationally.
Head coach Otto Addo has selected the 26-year-old center-back, currently with FC Augsburg and set to return to SV Darmstadt 98 in 2025, for upcoming friendlies against Austria and Germany.
Born in Germany, Pfeiffer may make his debut against his birth country when Ghana faces Germany in Stuttgart on March 30.

Before opting to represent Ghana, the 1.96-meter defender played for Germany at the U18 and U19 levels.
He got his Ghanaian passport in 2024, which was the last thing that had kept him from being eligible, even though he had already declared for the Black Stars.
Pfeiffer said in 2022 that he wanted to play for Ghana, but the process took longer due to paperwork issues. He is now ready to join the national squad for the first time and compete for a spot in the defense as Ghana gets ready for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
On March 27, Ghana will play Austria in Vienna. Three days later, they will play Germany in Stuttgart.
