Asante Kotoko’s interim coach, Abdul Karim Zito, is urging his team to prepare more intensely for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup.
Victory in the 2024/25 FA Cup earned the Porcupine Warriors a spot in the CAF interclub competition.
Kotoko won the FA Cup, defeating lower-tier Golden Kick FC 2-1 in a challenging match.
Before their Confederation Cup campaign, Zito, taking over from Prosper Narteh Ogum, directed the leadership to ensure sufficient preparation.
The former Black Satellites head coach believes that intense preparation and qualifying for the group phase will enable them to achieve their goal.
“We will prepare well for Africa. We will bring in some players to improve the team,” he said.
Zito explained that seven games with the team have revealed areas needing improvement, and achieving those improvements will secure their spot in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko has yet to decide on Abdul Karim Zito’s future after the season ended.
