GFA’s Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, confirmed Otto Addo will reveal the Black Stars squad for the 2026 World Cup on June 1.
Ghana will be in Group I with Panama, England, and Croatia in the tournament, which the USA, Canada, and Mexico will co-host next summer.
Asante Twum, speaking to Asempa FM, said that provisional squads from all qualified teams are due April 11, with final squads due June 1.
“All qualified teams, including the Black Stars of Ghana, are mandated by FIFA to announce their provisional squad on May 11, 2026. The final squads for the tournament must be announced before midnight on June 1, 2026.”
Asante Twum added that every Ghanaian player currently performing well will be considered for the tournament.
“The technical team watches every Ghanaian player who performs well and calls them up, no matter where they play”.
Ghana’s campaign starts June 17 in Toronto versus Panama, then Boston on June 23 against England.
The Black Stars play Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia, in the final group-stage game.
Ghana will be making its fifth appearance at the World Cup, after participating in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022, with its best performance being a quarter-final run in South Africa in 2010.
