The English FA’s quest for a new England men’s senior team manager has concluded.
The new manager has been confirmed as Thomas Tuchel, with Anthony Barry as his assistant.
In the FA statement, Thomas Tuchel, the newly appointed New England manager, expressed his deep respect and honor in leading the England team. “I have long felt a personal connection to the game in this country, and it has given me some incredible moments already. To have the chance to represent England is a huge privilege, and the opportunity to work with this special and talented group of players is fascinating”.
“Working closely with Anthony as my assistant coach, we will do everything we can to make England successful and the supporters proud. I want to thank the FA, particularly Mark and John, for their trust, and I look forward to starting our journey together.”
The Football Association has announced that Thomas Tuchel has been appointed as England’s manager after a recruitment process in July following Euro 2024 and Gareth Southgate’s departure.
According to the FA, CEO Mark Bullingham and men’s technical director John McDermott led the process, interviewing multiple candidates and identifying Tuchel as the preferred choice.
Tuchel’s contract signing took place on 8 October, prior to England’s recent Nations League matches, but the announcement was postponed to minimize distractions.
Lee Carsley, the interim manager, was evasive about his future. He knew Tuchel’s imminent arrival would soon replace him, sparking the anticipation of the new era of England football.
