D.C.’s Audi Field will host three matches in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, starting its June tournament.
This is a chance to show D.C. and the world what a vibrant, diverse, soccer-mad city it is. Hosting the FIFA 2025 Club World Cup is a massive accomplishment, providing excellent exposure for both D.C. United and the city.
According to Bryan Swanson, FIFA’s media coordinator, Audifield’s hosting role is a significant benefit for the city.
“It’s a fantastic stadium, and it’s great to see the passion of the fans as well. I love the fireworks that go off after every goal.”
The FIFA media coordinator’s visit highlights their dedication to community engagement and sports development leading up to the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
“We are very excited that three group matches will be staged here at Audifield, and we’re urging everyone to come along to those games to give them that all-American welcome. We are going to see supporters around the world here in Washington, DC, and that’s really exciting for us. Ofocurse is coming a year before the World Cup. “
This year marks D.C. United’s 30th anniversary, a significant milestone heightened by the Club World Cup’s arrival at Audi Field.
The venue received official host site status for the 2025 tournament on September 28th, 2024.
The new FIFA Club World Cup trophy, made with Tiffany & Co., boasts a 24-carat gold-plated finish, intricate engravings in 13 languages and Braille.
The design, inspired by NASA’s Voyager missions and science, symbolizes the tournament’s global reach and the merging of football’s past and future.
Audi Field will host three group stage matches on June 18, 22, and 26, including games between Juventus FC, Al Hilal, FC Salzburg, Wydad AC, and Al Ain FC.
