Marvin Senaya Commits to Ghana, GFA Confirms

The Ghana Football Association’s Communication Director, Henry Aasnte, has informed fans that Marvin Senaya has committed to representing the Ghana national football team, despite interest from Togo.

These comments follow reports that Togo had also contacted Senaya before the next round of international matches. Still, the GFA says the right-back has picked Ghana after many talks with the federation.

Speaking on TV3 Ghana’s Sports Station, Asante Twum made it clear that the FA only adds players to the squad if both the player and his club fully agree. It is unprofessional to include him in the squad. We have engaged him over a long period, and he has agreed to play for Ghana,” he said.

Senaya, who plays for AJ Auxerre, is one of four new players picked by head coach Otto Addo for the 26-man squad. They will play friendly matches against Germany and Austria.

These matches are part of Ghana’s build-up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Adding Senaya aligns with Ghana’s plan to bring in more players of Ghanaian descent as the team prepares for future competitions.
