Doug Luiz Open to Premier League Return

A return to the Premier League may be on the horizon for Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz, according to Sky Sports. Sources indicate that two English clubs are interested in the player. The 26-year-old midfielder, who joined Juventus from Aston Villa for €50 million last summer, could be making his way back to the Premier League. Juventus is reportedly willing to loan Luiz, and the deal would include a mandatory purchase clause.

It’s notable that Luiz has made 9 appearances for Juventus this season, but he has yet to score a goal or provide an assist. Reports suggest that one of the Premier League clubs interested in Luiz is Manchester City. However, Manchester City’s attempt to secure a loan for the second half of the season was rejected by the Serie A team, as mentioned by Tuttomercatoweb. They may consider pursuing a permanent move starting in January.

Luiz’s £42 million ($55 million) transfer to Juventus has not been successful thus far. This season, he has only started two out of 13 matches under manager Thiago Motta, while his partner Lehmann has been more productive, scoring two goals in fifteen appearances for Juventus.

The next few weeks will be crucial for Luiz as the January transfer window approaches. It remains to be seen whether he will still be with Juventus come February.
