Ancelotti has signed a contract to manage Brazil, starting this month

Carlo Ancelotti will begin his new role as Brazil’s head coach on August 2.
The Italian, 65, is leaving Real Madrid following their last La Liga match versus Real Sociedad.
He’s officially signed to become Brazil’s first foreign men’s football coach.
Despite having a year left in his Real Madrid contract, Ancelotti’s transfer was completed after amicable discussions orchestrated by Diego Fernandes representing the CBF.
Ancelotti, one of football’s most successful managers, will manage Brazil’s qualifying campaign for the 2026 tournament in North America to pursue a record-breaking sixth World Cup win.
According to a previous report by The Athletic, the 65-year-old had agreed terms with Madrid to leave.
A report from The Athletic on April 27th indicated the Italian coach would depart Madrid for the Brazil head coach position, a one-year contract extending to the 2026 World Cup’s conclusion.
Following Dorival Júnior’s March dismissal after 14 months, Brazil will have a replacement coach whose debut will be the June 6th World Cup qualifier versus Ecuador.
Across two stints at Real Madrid, Ancelotti, who returned in 2021, secured two La Liga titles and three Champions League victories.
Madrid was eliminated by Arsenal in the Champions League quarterfinals. Last month, it also lost the Copa del Rey final to Barcelona in extra time. With three games left, it currently trails La Liga leader Bayern Munich by seven points.
