Police Ladies defeats Ampem Darkoa to win their first Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League

Police Ladies defeated Ampem Darkoa Ladies 2-0 at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday, securing their inaugural Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League title.
Despite the torrential rain, both teams were determined to end their season with a win. The Police Ladies displayed more composure in the first half, earning a 27th-minute goal from Jane Ayieyam following a period of sustained pressure.
A disciplined Police defense thwarted Ampem Darkoa’s attempts to equalize in the second half. Victoria Teye Williams’s 89th-minute goal secured a memorable victory for Police Ladies as time ran out.
After their defeat, Ampem Darkoa’s recent dominance in the women’s league is over; they previously beat Police Ladies 2-0 in the 2017 Super Cup.
Sunday’s victory awarded Police Ladies their inaugural league title and a spot in the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League, recognizing their dedication and consistent performance.
