GoldStars exited CAF Champions League after crushing loss to JS Kabylie

JS Kabylie defeated Bibiani GoldStars 5-0, eliminating them 7-0 in the CAF Champions League’s preliminary round.
The reigning Ghana Premier League champions, behind 2-0 from the Accra game, had a tough challenge, but a nightmare began when Emmanuel Kobi scored an own goal in the opening minutes.
Ryad Boudebouz’s goal in the 29th gave Kabylie a 2-0 advantage, solidifying their control. Mehdi Merghem scored a third goal midway through the second half, crushing GoldStars’ hopes. After an hour of play, defender Emmanuel Ankrah received a red card, and the home team capitalized.
Lahlou Akhrib scored four minutes later, and Oualid Maliki’s stoppage-time goal finished the rout, sending Kabylie through with a strong performance.
GoldStars’ continental adventure is over after the first hurdle, so they must now regroup and focus on defending their title in Ghana.
