Ghana U17 deputy captain Ernest Ofori is closer to signing his first professional contract after receiving an invitation to train with Swedish club Falkenberg, who are evaluating him for a potential transfer.
Ofori has made a strong start to his trial, scoring once and providing an assist in a practice match, demonstrating the talent that marks him as one of Ghana’s top young prospects.
Currently with Greater Accra Division Two Club Great Somas FC, Ofori has risen quickly through Ghana’s youth football system and earned recognition for his consistent performances.
He is among the few players to progress from Ghana’s national U15 team to the Black Starlets, reflecting his steady development.
Ofori first gained international attention at the 2023 UEFA U16 Development Tournament in Serbia, where his technical ability and composure stood out against strong opposition.
He later represented Ghana at the 2025 WAFU Zone B U17 Boys’ Championship in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, further strengthening his reputation.
A successful trial in Sweden could lead to Ofori’s first move to European football, as Falkenberg continues to monitor his progress.
