Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, believes their Conference League victory could be a major turning point for the club.
Enzo Fernandes, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Moises Caicedo all scored as Chelsea beat Real Betis 4-1 to win the UEFA Conference League final in Wroclaw.
Chelsea played poorly for the first half in Wroclaw, but Reece James’s arrival at halftime sparked a comeback, leading to a 4-1 win over Real Betis with four second-half goals.
Even before the game, the head coach anticipated that the physical toll of the crucial Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on Sunday might affect their performance in subsequent games following their 1-0 victory.

He told TNT Sports: “In the first half, we approached the game in the wrong way. I expected it a little bit, as the happiness had been too much after Nottingham Forest for two days.
“You go all season waiting, waiting. We struggled a little bit with that, but the second half was much better. The message after Forest was that if we wanted to be an important team, what we’ve done is done, and we have to win a final now.”

“That was the message, but there’s the happiness, the tiredness. We played on Sunday for a big target, [Betis] played on Friday for nothing. They had 48 hours extra.
“I expected it a little bit, but in the second half, we were much better, and we were attacking in behind, which we didn’t do before halftime.”
Chelsea’s 4-1 win achieved a historic feat: winning every major European continental trophy, their first silverware since the February 2022 Club World Cup.
Following the BlueCo takeover, despite spending over £1 billion on players, the club achieved significant success with its first Conference League title.
