Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana will join Atalanta after cutting short his honeymoon in Accra for a medical in Bergamo on Sunday.
Southampton’s 23-year-old winger is joining Atalanta in a deal worth €17.5 million, plus €4 million in add-ons and a sell-on clause. Sulemana is anticipated to sign a four-year contract with a potential fifth year.
After a club-record transfer from FC Nordsjælland and Stade Rennais, the winger joined Southampton in January 2023, playing 26 Premier League games and scoring one goal. Although he didn’t score many goals in England, his impressive speed, agility, and flair attracted Atalanta’s scouts.
Atalanta plans to rapidly integrate the player into their squad for the upcoming busy Serie A and European season.
