Napoli has officially announced the acquisition of Kevin De Bruyne on a free transfer after he left Manchester City at the end of his contract.
After City decided in April not to renew the 33-year-old’s contract, De Bruyne announced his departure, calling it a “business decision” after his 10 trophy-filled years at the club.
Despite interest from Inter Miami and Chicago Fire in MLS, De Bruyne’s desire for elite-level play led him to the Serie A winners.
The midfielder’s last game for City was a substitute appearance in the 2-0 victory against Fulham on the final day of the season.

Last season’s Premier League saw De Bruyne contribute four goals and seven assists in 28 appearances.
