Real Madrid has signed Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen for £50m.
Real Madrid has agreed with Huijsen to terminate his Bournemouth contract after the Premier League season. This will enable him to participate in the Club World Cup, following swift action amidst significant interest.
Newcastle, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal all showed interest in the 20-year-old, who had a breakout season.
Huijsen, however, always prioritized a transfer to Real Madrid. He aimed to return to Spain, where he spent his youth career at Malaga.
To help Andoni Iraola’s team qualify for Europe for the first time, Huijsen wanted the agreement finalized rapidly so he could focus on playing.
Bournemouth stated that their center-back, a summer signing from Juventus, has been vital to their record-breaking season. Under manager Andoni Iraola, they exceeded their previous Premier League points total.
This season, the Spanish international, a £12.6m signing from Juventus last summer, has played in 34 matches across all competitions, netting three goals. Juventus will receive 10 percent of Huijsen’s transfer fee.
