Former Manchester United player Axel Tuanzebe has filed a lawsuit, claiming the club provided negligent medical advice.
The 27-year-old who joined Burnley earlier this month filed a legal claim with the High Court last week against United.
This high-value claim (£1m+) involves an unidentified injury sustained in July 2022.
Tuanzebe missed 195 days of his final season, then made only five appearances for Stoke after a January 2023 loan.
He debuted with the club in 2017 at age eight, played 37 games before his 2023 departure, and joined Ipswich as a free agent that September.
Having captained United at all levels, his last game for the club was the 2021 Europa League final against Villarreal; he scored in the penalty shootout, but they lost 11-10.
Having also played for Aston Villa three times on loan and Napoli in 2022, the former England Under-21 international now plays for DR Congo.
