Palace loses their appeal against their Europa League demotion.

Crystal Palace will play in the Conference League after losing their appeal.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport’s (CAS) decision also confirms Nottingham Forest’s Europa League berth after they earned promotion from Palace.
The announcement follows Palace’s Community Shield victory over Liverpool at Wembley, which was decided by penalties.
Winning the FA Cup last season allowed the Eagles to enter the Europa League, though UEFA penalized them for violating multi-club ownership regulations.
American businessman John Textor, who sold his 43% stake in June, currently owns the majority of Lyon, a team that is also going to the Europa League.
UEFA required Palace to provide proof by March 1, 2025, a deadline the club failed to meet.
Palace appealed to Cas in July regarding Uefa’s punishment, along with Lyon and Nottingham Forest.
The ruling included a statement from Cas:
Regulations are clear and do not provide flexibility to clubs that are non-compliant on the assessment date, as Palace claimed.
Textor still had a decisive influence over both clubs at the time of UEFA’s assessment date.
The panel also dismissed Palace’s argument that they received unfair treatment in comparison to Nottingham Forest and Lyon.
According to UEFA, clubs under the same ownership cannot participate in the same European tournament.
Palace claimed Textor had no major impact, but UEFA dismissed the Premier League team’s argument.
The Conference League play-off round will see Palace face Fredrikstad or Midtjylland.
