Manchester United and Paris St-Germain have settled on a fee of 50m euros (£42.29m) for the transfer of midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
The agreement could also result in extra payments of up to 10m euros (£8.46m).
There’s a chance that Ugarte could travel to Manchester for a medical examination later today.
Simultaneously, midfielder Scott McTominay’s rumored €30m (£25.37m) move to Napoli is happening.
Ugarte, who joined PSG from Sporting Lisbon for 60m euros last year, is now set to sign for United at Old Trafford.
With 37 appearances, including 25 in the league, the 23-year-old helped PSG claim their 12th Ligue 1 title under Luis Enrique.
PSG have reportedly negotiated a 10% sell-on clause for Ugarte, and both clubs are satisfied with the agreement.
McTominay’s switch to Napoli is crucial for the Ugarte deal, but there is optimism at Old Trafford about the transfer’s completion.
McTominay is scheduled to go to Italy for a medical on Tuesday.
Various sources confirm that the Profit and Sustainability regulations of the Premier League promote the selling of home-grown players.
United initially entertained offers for McTominay a year ago, as manager Erik ten Hag could not promise him a consistent starting position.
Despite his early involvement with a United soccer school, the Scotland midfielder had an impressive season, making 32 Premier League appearances and scoring seven goals for United.
He played in the FA Cup final and helped secure the victory against Manchester City.
United sources have confirmed that they identified Ugarte early in the transfer window and negotiated patiently for his signature. He was part of Uruguay’s Copa America team and reached the final, where they were defeated by Argentina.
Assuming the transfer goes smoothly, Ugarte will be United’s fifth summer addition and push their total spending over £190m.
United’s expenditure on new players has reached nearly £600m since Ten Hag took charge in 2022.
