Ghanaian striker Antoine Semenyo is said to be a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, as Salah’s contract is ending soon.
Sky Sports has stated that Liverpool’s recruitment team, under the guidance of Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, prioritizes the scouting of promising players, especially for positions that may require filling soon. Semenyo has risen to prominence and is currently on their radar.
Recently, the 24-year-old at Bournemouth has shown impressive development, scoring five goals in the last 14 Premier League matches and three goals in nine games this season under head coach Andoni Iraola.
Newcastle, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in Semenyo and other Premier League teams. His wish to participate in the Champions League could lead him to consider Liverpool as an appealing choice.
“I aspire to compete in the Champions League or Europa League. I know it requires dedication and isn’t something achieved overnight. I need to stay consistent and keep scoring to move forward in my career,” Semenyo told The Athletic last month.
