Liverpool has reportedly made a move for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.
The Merseyside team confirms no formal bid has arrived, understanding Newcastle’s unwavering stance against selling Isak. They’ve, however, expressed interest in a deal of approximately £120 million.
Liverpool has long admired the 25-year-old, and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike has also been a target. There has been no official contact from Liverpool to Eintracht. Newcastle are working to recruit Ekitike but have yet to reach an agreement with Eintracht or the 23-year-old France youth international.
Understandably, Liverpool’s sensitivities remain heightened after Diogo Jota’s tragic passing earlier this month, yet they recognize the need for more signings this summer.
