To begin their January transfer business, Brentford has signed Fiorentina’s Michael Kayode on a loan deal for the rest of the season.
The deal includes a permanent summer transfer option for the 20-year-old.
This season, the Fiorentina right-back for Italy’s Under-21 team has played in 12 matches, joining the team in 2023-24.
Having progressed through Juventus’ youth ranks, Kayode’s performances at Gozzano (Italy’s Serie D) led to his 2021 move to Florence.
“Michael is a player that we think will suit Brentford and the physical nature of the Premier League very well,” said Brentford director of football Phil Giles.
His limited game time this season seems to be down to misfortune, and we’ve been tracking that.
