Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher has joined Brentford in a deal worth £12.5m initially.
The original offer for Republic of Ireland player Kelleher is £12.5m, but this amount could increase to £18m with add-ons. Flekken was sold for around £8m.
Brentford had been tracking the Republic of Ireland international Kelleher for quite some time.
Prior to Mark Flekken’s arrival in 2023, there was interest; however, Liverpool’s willingness to sell began only after securing Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia the previous summer.

Although Leeds and West Ham also pursued Kelleher, Brentford’s strong relationship with Liverpool (from which they signed Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho last summer) helped them win the competition.
Despite earning 22 international caps, Kelleher’s 10 starts for Liverpool’s Premier League title win were fewer than Alisson’s due to the pecking order.
Flekken completes Leverkusen move
Elsewhere, Bees No. 1 Flekken has now joined Bayer Leverkusen.
Leverkusen and Brentford agreed a transfer fee of roughly £11m (€13m), including add-ons, on Tuesday, sending the player to Germany to join former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
