Conor Benn has confirmed his proposed fight with Chris Eubank Jr on 3 February is off and will ‘definitely not’ happen in the future.
The sons of British boxing royalty were scheduled to fight in October last year but their grudge match was cancelled days before the opening bell when it emerged Benn had tested positive for banned substance clomifene.
The unbeaten welterweight has persistently denied any wrong doing with efforts to revive the fight intensifying in recent weeks. 3 February at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium had been the targeted date despite opposition from the British Boxing Board of Control.
Talks have again broken down however with a deadline set by Benn and promoter Eddie Hearn this week passing with no positive developments.
