Joseph Paintsil delivered the headline performance among Ghanaian players in Major League Soccer over the weekend, scoring twice as LA Galaxy fought back to earn a 2-2 draw against city rivals Los Angeles FC in the latest edition of the El Tráfico derby.
The Ghana international opened his account in the 34th minute before adding a second six minutes after the restart. Having inspired Galaxy’s fightback, Paintsil was withdrawn in the 73rd minute after an influential display.
Elsewhere, Ronald Donkor played a decisive role in New York Red Bulls’ 2-0 victory over Inter Miami>, setting up Emil Forsberg’s stoppage-time goal to seal the win. Fellow Ghanaian Mohammed Sofo also started the match and was involved in the attacking move that led to the opening goal, which came courtesy of an own goal by an Inter Miami defender.

At Nashville SC, Maxwell Woledzi featured as the club secured the Supporters’ Shield with a comfortable 2-0 win over CF Montréal. Shak Mohammed, meanwhile, remained an unused substitute.
Ghanaian-born striker Kelvin Yeboah was unable to add to his impressive tally of 17 goals and three assists this season as Minnesota United settled for a goalless draw against Houston Dynamo.
Meanwhile, San Diego FC, who have called on Ghanaian defender Manu Duah during the campaign, shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Seattle Sounders.
Paintsil’s match-winning display and Donkor’s creative spark stood out among the Ghanaian contingent, while Sofo and Woledzi also contributed to positive results for their respective sides.
