Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), has announced that the final match of the 2030 FIFA World Cup will take place at the Hassan II Stadium in Benslimane.
Lekjaa shared this news during a speech in Bouznika. He is also a member of the political bureau of the Authenticity and Modernity Party.
With the tournament’s final approaching, the Hassan II Stadium, considered Morocco’s top venue for 2030, will host the finalists.
In 2030, Morocco will co-host the World Cup with Spain and Portugal. The country will host several matches during the tournament.
Lekjaa said that King Mohammed VI directed the choice of Benslimane for the new stadium. He believes this shows the importance given to the province and its development.
While discussions about the tournament’s venues continue, Lekjaa confirmed that the Hassan II Stadium will host the final match.
As Morocco prepares to host the championship, Lekjaa hopes the Atlas Lions will perform well and compete for victory at home.
At the same time, the head of the Moroccan Football Association (FA) remembered the disappointment after the team’s loss to France at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He said that reaching the final was always the main goal, especially after the Atlas Lions became the first African team to reach the World Cup semi-finals.
The 2030 World Cup is expected to be another major milestone for Moroccan football, as the country joins Spain and Portugal in co-hosting the event.
