Jordan Ayew has joined Sheffield United and says he is eager to make an impact and help the club reach its goals this season.
The Ghana captain completed his move to the Blades on Tuesday, signing a one-year deal after leaving Leicester City as a free agent.
Ayew said his transfer happened quickly after a call from manager Chris Wilder started the process.
It happened quickly because I was in Ghana and the manager called me last week.
“I didn’t think twice; I just took the opportunity.”
Now, at 34, Ayew is setting his sights on making a difference within a Sheffield United squad he sees as bursting with potential.
The most important thing is for me to help the team and for us to have a great season.
“I have a lot of desire this season to make an impact and to help the team because we have a good squad and there’s a lot of positive things we can do.”
With over 500 competitive matches under his belt, Ayew arrives at Sheffield United carrying experience from clubs like Marseille, Sochaux, Lorient, Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Leicester City.
