Julius Emunah named Hearts of Oak MD

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has named Julius Ben Emunah as their new Managing Director, starting February 2, 2026.

This move marks a bold new era for Phobian leadership, as the club sets its sights on strengthening both its administrative backbone and competitive edge for future battles at home and across Africa.

The club officially announced the appointment on February 3. Emunah takes the reins from Dr Delali Anku-Adiamah, who guided the club through a pivotal chapter. The Board expressed gratitude to Dr Anku-Adiamah and warmly welcomed Emunah, confident in his vision and expertise to steer Hearts of Oak into an exciting future.

Julius Ben Emunah has nearly ten years of experience in football administration, governance, sports broadcasting, and sports management, working at both national and continental scales. His role as Head of Competitions at the GFA involved significant involvement in domestic competition management and regulatory enforcement, prior to Hearts of Oak.

Throughout his career, Emunah has built a strong reputation for dynamic leadership, excelling in competition management, club licensing, event organization, media relations, regulatory compliance, and uniting diverse stakeholders.

Emunah’s influence stretches far beyond Ghana’s borders, with hands-on roles in prestigious events like the CAF Interclub finals, AFCON qualifiers, the African Nations Championship, and the African Games.

Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Cape Coast and a Global Master’s in Sports Management and Legal Skills from FC Barcelona at ISDE Law Business School in Spain, Emunah’s academic journey perfectly aligns with the demands of modern football leadership.

Emunah will be in charge of Hearts of Oak’s administrative, commercial, and sporting operations in his new position. He is supposed to work hand in hand with the technical team, players, supporters, sponsors, and other important stakeholders to ensure sustained growth and enduring success.

The Board of Directors has placed its full confidence in Emunah to elevate the club’s professionalism, transparency, and competitive spirit to global standards. As Hearts of Oak embarks on this new chapter, the club renews its promise of excellence both on and off the pitch, guided by Emunah’s leadership.
