Ex-Ghana winger Laryea Kingston expects a great game between the Black Stars and England’s Three Lions at the 2026 World Cup.
Ghana, set to make its fifth World Cup appearance, will compete in Group L with Panama, England, and Croatia, as drawn on Friday in Washington.
Panama will be the Black Stars’ first World Cup opponent on June 17 in Toronto, followed by England on June 23 in Boston. Ghana faces Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27 to finish the group phase.

With the US, Canada, and Mexico as co-hosts, the 2026 World Cup will expand to 48 teams, guaranteeing Africa a record nine direct entries.
This will be Ghana’s fifth World Cup, following their participation in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022, and their best showing was reaching the quarterfinals in 2010.
The former Ghana international has urged the Black Stars to be wary of Panama’s threat, asserting that their qualification was not a fluke, in a bid to make a significant impact.
“Ghana is in a tough group. I will advise the Black Stars not to underestimate Panama. Their qualification to the tournament was not just by fluke” he said.
