Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil appreciated the unwavering support from Ghanaians for the Black Stars in their World Cup qualifying match against Mali.
Painstil, of LA Galaxy, came on as a substitute, helping the Black Stars narrowly defeat the Eagles on Monday, boosting their World Cup chances.
The swift winger replaced Mohammed Kudus near the end of the match, helping his team win at home.
Nonetheless, the Ghanaian winger went on social media to thank Ghanaians for their constant support.
“Thank you all for cheering us on last night. God bless you,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Ghana leads Group I with 19 points after eight qualification matches, needing one win for the World Cup.
Otto Addo’s team will play in October against the Central African Republic; a victory will ensure qualification.
