New Chelsea deal for Josh Acheampong till 2029

Chelsea has signed a long-term contract with Ghanaian-born English defender Josh Acheampong.
The club announced Wednesday that their promising defender signed a contract until 2029.

Negotiations between the club and Acheampong’s representatives have been at an impasse, making his future at the club uncertain for the past few months.
The club shut him out until recently when positive talks shifted his standing.
Acheampong had his first full game last week in our Europa Conference League win versus Astana in Kazakhstan, with Josh starting. He also sat on the bench for our win against Brentford on Sunday.
Acheampong is a Chelsea youth product but has yet to break into the senior national team. He could also play for Ghana.
Nevertheless, he distinguished himself internationally, playing for England in the under-17 European Championships (summer 2023) and the under-17 World Cup (November).
