Alisson injury: Arne Slot says the Liverpool goalkeeper’s probable hamstring issue will keep him out of action for “a few weeks”

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson suffered an injury during their 1-0 win at Crystal Palace, and boss Arne Slot has confirmed he will be sidelined for a few weeks.
The Liverpool goalkeeper fell in pain after punching the ground when he cleared the ball in his penalty area. In his place, 23-year-old Vitezslav Jaros was brought in for an unexpected debut with the club. Caoimhin Kelleher, the second choice, could not travel to south London due to illness.
Following his team’s win at Selhurst Park, Slot revealed that his goalkeeper won’t be part of the Brazil squad during the international break.
“It’s going to take a few weeks,” he said.
“The latest is we don’t know. It means he’s not on the Brazil squad, and I don’t expect him to be on the team in the first game we play afterward.”
Asked if it was a hamstring injury, Slot said: “I think it is.”

“Alisson is our clear No 1,” he said.
“[He is] the best goalkeeper in the world, so it’s always a blow when he gets injured. But in almost every position we have a second option that is also really good.
“Caoimhin Kelleher has already shown that, so it’s clear he’s No 2. And it is very pleasing to see our third keeper – because Caom was sick yesterday – that he can impact our results.
Slot also confirmed that Alexis Mac Allister was substituted at halftime due to a groin injury. Dominik Szobszlai substituted the Argentina international after starting the halftime break. “It is difficult to judge,” the manager said.
“He could continue playing, but he felt it a bit too much, and I don’t think it’s good to keep playing.
“Can he go to Argentina and play there? That’s difficult for me to tell you.”
