Ghana striker Jordan Ayew explains why he joined Leicester City

Leicester City’s latest addition, Jordan Ayew, has revealed the factors that led to his decision to join the club. Manager Steve Cooper’s role was significant.

Completing his transfer from Crystal Palace on Friday, the Black Stars striker reunited with Cooper, with whom he had previously played at Swansea City.

“As a player, when you hear the manager wants you, it just makes you want to come and work under him and to try to improve,” Ayew explained after signing a two-year contract. “Even though I’m 32, as a player you always want to learn and improve. I’m here to work hard and help the team achieve their targets.”

Ayew played a major role at Crystal Palace, but a change in management led to his move to Leicester. His objective now is to support the Foxes in preserving their Premier League status.

Leicester City made a comeback to the Premier League this season by winning the Championship after being relegated in 2022/23.
