Basigi named Simba Queens’ new coach

Yussif Basigi has been officially announced as the new head coach of Tanzanian giants Simba Queens.
In a post on their X handle, the club wished the Ghanaian coach well in his new appointment on Wednesday, September 25.
Basigi became part of the club on a one-year contract after parting ways with Hasaacas Ladies.
At the age of 52, he brings valuable experience, which will help Simba Queens maintain their dominance in the domestic league and make a mark on the continental stage.
Under Basigi’s leadership, Hasaacas Ladies secured their first league title in 2013 by defeating Fabulous Ladies in the final. In total, he won four league titles and was the champion of the first-ever WAFU B Women’s Champions League.
Notably, he guided Hasaacas Ladies to the final of the first CAF Women’s Champions League, which took place in Egypt.
