Chelsea have been forced to make a late U-turn with Nicolas Jackson ahead of their Premier League clash with Liverpool on Wednesday evening.
Jackson has been away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal this month but his nation were eliminated from the tournament on Monday after losing to Ivory Coast on penalties in their last-16 tie.
Chelsea had planned for Jackson to fly to Manchester after Senegal’s AFCON exit where he would then be able to link up with his teammates ahead of their trip to Anfield.
However, it’s understood that Senegal head coach Aliou Cisse ordered team to return to Dakar together before returning to their clubs this week.
