Ghana international Mohammed Kudus was not involved in his club’s 1-0 pre-season friendly win over MK Dons on Wednesday as he continues his recovery from a quadriceps injury.
The 25-year-old midfielder remains on an individual rehabilitation programme and is yet to return to full first-team training, with the club taking a cautious approach to his recovery.
Kudus has been working closely with the club’s strength and conditioning team, completing high-intensity rehabilitation sessions that include sharp turns, acceleration and changes of direction. While his progress has been encouraging, he is not yet ready to rejoin his teammates in full training.
The Black Stars star has been sidelined since suffering the injury in January. A setback during his recovery in April ultimately ruled him out of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
As a result, his absence from Wednesday’s pre-season fixture came as no surprise, with the club focused on ensuring he regains full fitness ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Widely regarded as one of Ghana’s key players, Kudus will be hoping to complete the final stages of his rehabilitation without further complications as he targets a return to competitive action in the coming weeks.
