2026 World Cup Qualifiers: I am optimistic about the Black Stars’ qualification – Stephen Appiah

The Black Star Management Committee’s Vice Chairman, Stephen Appiah, is confident the team can qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana hopes to strengthen its tournament qualification hopes in the upcoming games against Chad and Mali.
The former Black Stars captain talked to the media after the team’s first training session. He said the team is ready and he’s optimistic about them going to the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
“Talking to them, they are ready to play the two games, and we all know that we have two crucial games that will determine our chances for the World Cup,” he said.
“We believe the guys will make it,” Appiah added.
Ghana plays Chad on Thursday, September 4, at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno, and then hosts Mali on Monday, September 8, at Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars will have their final Accra training today, then leave for N’Djamena tonight.
Ghana leads Group I with 15 points, three ahead of Comoros and five ahead of Madagascar, in its quest for a fifth World Cup.
