Black Stars fall six places in FIFA World Rankings

Ghana Black Star’s FIFA World Rankings have dropped significantly due to their disappointing performances in the September international break.
Ghana played against Angola and Niger in the first two matches of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
The team experienced a 1-0 defeat to Angola at Baba Yara Stadium and a 1-1 draw against Niger in Berkane. Consequently, Ghana is currently positioned as the third team in Group F.
Ghana’s global ranking dropped from 64th to 70th after the release of the rankings. Countries like Georgia, the United Arab Emirates, Albania, Cape Verde, and Burkina Faso have surpassed Ghana in the standings.
The Black Stars have fallen two spots in the continental rankings, now sitting at 14th place, as Burkina Faso and Cape Verde surpass them.
Morocco leads the CAF rankings, with Senegal close behind in second place. Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, and Tunisia complete the top five.
In October, the Black Stars will regroup for their third and fourth matches against Sudan in the qualifiers.
