Former Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingston has embarked on an exciting new career as head coach of RPS Academies in the United States.
Kingston will collaborate with a team of coaches to develop future football stars in Saint Lucie, Florida.
With a UEFA Licence B coaching certificate, the Ghanaian coach brings valuable experience from the Right to Dream Academy and coaching the under-18 side of Nordsjaelland.
With an official start date of September 1, he will be in charge of the coaching staff and take the lead in the academy’s football department. Under a five-year contract, they will regularly assess Kingston’s long-term impact by evaluating his performance every two years.
RPS Academies focuses on academic development alongside various sports, such as football, tennis, golf, volleyball, and pickleball.
Their model is similar to the renowned Right to Dream Academy, known for producing top football talents like Mohammed Kudus, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Abdul Mumin, Ernest Nuamah, and Ibrahim Osman.
New challenge
Kingston expressed enthusiasm for the new challenge despite his disappointment in leaving the Black Starlets post during the U-17 WAFU B Championship in Accra. “I had other coaching opportunities, but this option is perfect for me,” he said.
Kingston recounted how his new employers had been tracking his development before reaching out to him with the opportunity.
